The Department of Nursing has four (4) Research Laboratories that aims to promote scientific knowledge and research, as recorded in their regulations.
- Research Laboratory entitled «Diabetes mellitus and metabolism»
- Research Laboratory entitled «Biology & Histology, Microscopy & Image Analysis, Systematics & Biometrics»
- Research Laboratory entitled «Care of Adult Patients with Cancer»
- Research Laboratory on Neurological Diseases and Nursing Research Interventions
More specifically, the purpose of the four laboratories of the Department of Nursing is:
- Promotion of science in health sciences.
- Support the conduct of research to meet the research needs of the Department of Nursing.
- Support the preparation of undergraduate/postgraduate/doctoral theses and facilitate the conduct of internships through collaboration with various institutions.
- Providing counseling, nursing and other health services and meeting various social needs, when and where specific assistance is requested on issues related to the scope of the laboratory.
- Training of undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of Nursing and other Departments of the International Hellenic University in the subject of the laboratory.
- Support the initiation of new independent or funded research projects and coordinating the conduct of research in the Department of Nursing.
- Promotion of cooperation with other academic institutions and research centers in Greece and abroad, which have related or complementary interests.
- Promotion of cooperation with public organizations or private companies for the practical application of the results they produce, in collaboration with the Research Committee and the Foundation’s Special Account.
- Publication of the results and development of its research activities in national or international conferences and in reputable scientific journals.
- Organizing of seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences and lectures that promote and improve the quality of care provided and aim to inform nurses and other health professionals.
