Participating Departments and Institutions: Department of Management of Organizations, Marketing & Tourism (supervising department) and Department of Nursing of IHU.
One of the main objectives of the MSc in Health & Welfare Management is the importance of the connection with the wider society, as far as innovation and education are concerned, as well as the importance of the relationship between the two co-organizing Faculties and their graduates in a modern academic environment.
Data from studies, notes and proposals from employers of health and welfare units and other relevant public and private organizations are used, so that the Master’s degree is in line with the current needs of the labor market in the specific sector. The link between the postgraduate program and the labor market is understood as an ongoing process involving the monitoring of the needs of the labor market and of the qualifications that need updating, so that the objectives of both the departments and the postgraduate program are revised accordingly at regular intervals.
Through the participation in international conferences, the participating teachers are given the opportunity to understand the new trends in health and welfare services education and to apply them, proceeding to the necessary adaptation of the proposed curriculum in this direction. In addition, the involvement of Department members in public institutions and service providers is a second pillar of inputs from the market, society and places of production and work. Based on the above actions, the structure of the MSc presented in this study was developed and the courses to be taught in the MSc were drafted to meet the specific needs of the broader health and welfare services sector. The result is compared with courses in the MSc of similar departments abroad in order to identify possible discrepancies.
The response of the master’s program is very important, as it meets the objectives of the collaborating departments and society. The overwhelmingly high enrolment and the great interest of prospective students have resulted in the operation of two courses of study.
